Gilrs Camp 2008

I was called to be our Wards Girls Camp Director this year.. WOW what a calling. I truly love it.... sometimes I think I going crazy but then the next minute I can't believe that it almost over. For a Pre camp activity we decided that we were going to tye-dye our camp bags / Shirts .. 4 day later, I 'm still dealing with the mess ... One thing leads into the next and now I'm dying tube sock for all the girl...

Day 1 .....We started this mess inside in my kitchen .. Did I say mess....I meant to say this Wonderful Team Building Activity with young girls who get sidetrack very easy . As you can see most of my kitchen is white /beige and having young girls with PURPLE dye in your house is a big mistake from the very start....( Stop... Make note to self to never do this AGAIN inside ) .. but lets not focus on the negative..We had a great time.. but I did decide that on Wednesday night with all the girls... that we were doing outside! ..

Day 2 ..... All the girls . This went so much better outside, we all had a great time tye-dying everything . We also had to make 4 dozen cookies for a Dinner with the Stake, on the first night at camp .. lets say ...we tried to make 4 dozen cookies. As fast as we cooked them they were eaten .. ( I don't want to point fingers, but I think that most of the leaders went home with full bellies, if you know what I mean :)
Wait a sec.....I might need to take that last statement back .. as I was looking at my picture from that night I came across these ...

Talk about being caught with your hand or in this case mouth in the cookie jar ....
Got ya ...

Day 3... Had to make more cookies .... at some point on day 3, as we were finally finishing with this mess .. a few of the girls( Makenzie & Brianna) decide that tye-dying sock would be fun( I totally love it ) ... I can't even tell you how much dye that we used ... Let just say .. If you are in need of purple dye, you might just want to head straight for Spanish Fork ... for those of you that don't know where that is .. its about 13 mile to the south of us ..We cleaned out Orem .

Day 4 .....Need I say More ..

Never take someone for granted
Hold every person close to your heart
Because you might wake up one day
And realize that you've lost a diamond
While you were too busy collecting stones.

Quote of the Day ....

The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor.
